philips TV used as a monitor from dvi to hdmi?

I have a compaq tc 4200 laptop computer, and i wanted to use my 26 inch philips tv for my monitor. my tv though does not have a vga port therefore i tried dvi to hdmi. well when i plugged it in and tried to fixed the screen to the appropriate size, it was all fuzy and it kept fidgeting. does anyone know what? my tv is a Philips Modea with the pixel plus.as stated in my first response, there is no vga port on my tvas stated in my first response, there is no vga port on my tv

well... using the HDMI port on a TV to take input from a PC is not recommended unless u have the exact screen ratios and refresh rates. Id recommend connecting to the VGA port at the back of the TV as the first option. They are specifically for PC input.
