Phillips/Magnavox products are junk. They have no customer service and if you get someone they will tell you to junk it and buy new. I will never buy a product from them again.

For the TV, Samsung all the way. Samsung's quality has come a long way, and they have been taking a lot of the consumer LCD market over the last couple of years. For home theater, how much do you want to spend? If your heart is set on one of those 2 systems, I would go with the Samsung. But for about $200, you can get this Yamaha DVXC300, and I would get this instead.
