Default 34 weeks, sharp mentstrual like pain?

I have these pains that extend from the bottom up; even when the baby moves it hurts; these started last night and they come in waves and they do hurt; back is hurting too. Could this be preterm labor... I thought maybe they were braxton hicks but I read braxton hicks don't hurt.. so i'm worried.. Oh, and I'm extra puffy.. Extra water retention all of a sudden.

It is not true that Braxton Hicks don't hurt - it varies from person to person. But I would advise definately getting in touch with your doctor ASAP!

sounds like ur having contractions i would call you dr and time it because you sound like ur in labor since you are only 34 weeks they will probably want you to come in and they will more than likely stop the labor

well when you are having the pains does your stomache feel hard like a rock? When you have contractions your stomache will tighten up a lot and get very hard. I would call the dr. though just to be on the safe side.

Braxton Hicks can hurt actually... I have gotten some cramping, but it hasn't lasted and is not regular... therefore, not labor.... and I am 34 weeks as well. You are carrying a lot of extra weight and there is a lot of extra pressure right now, so you will get some cramping and discomfort. When these pains are regular, increase in intensity, or become excruciating.. then you will know. Of course, you shouldn't just take my word for it... go ahead and call your doctor. They usually like to know about these things so that they can make a decision for themselves.

I am 31 weeks pregnant and I am having braxton hicks who ever said braxton hicks doesnt hurt is lying. Braxton hicks are supposed to get you ready for labor therefore they hurt. When you are really in labor your contractions will be 1 minute duration and 5 minutes apart. If you feel the baby moving less though and start bleeding then you should worry. Otherwise welcome to mother hood honey your baby is going to come soon.

I am at 36 weeks and feeling the exact same things. I see my doctor, on average, 2x per week (mostly due to preeclampsia, gestational diabetes) and tell him EVERYTHING, and he hasn't been too concerned.Plus, my sister (who has 3 young children) has reassured me that at this point everything hurts / feels uncomfortable. I'm not sure how frequent or intense your pains are compared to mine, though, so it might be a good idea to call up your doctor and ask! Your doc won't mind and you'll feel a lot better!Good luck! :-)*edit*For the sore back, get down on your hands and knees. Lower yourself so you're resting on your forearms and your butt is up in the air. It gets the baby off your back. You can also try alternately arching and relaxing your back while in that position. My grandma, who's had 14 kids, taught me that and it works pretty well!

You really should contact your doctor with this question. We can all give you a guess at what it could be, but your doctor will know what it is just by seeing you.I wish you luck!
