this could be a few things. either you could have the start of a stomach ulcer, chronic gastritis or if you have had a cold or flu lately you could have a bit of fluid build up on your left lung. try holding your side firmly when you feel the pain if this helps the pain than it may be a bit of fluid and you may need an antibiotic to help clear it up. if this doesn't help the pain, than try some tums every day take two and see if after a week you feel better. keep track of when it flares, like before or after meals and what types of foods you eat. this area of the body and type of discomfort you are experiencing can be difficult to diagnose. go see your dr.
