What is it when you have a sharp pain on your lower back on the right hand side?

I think it may be my kidneys.

it is, it's your kidneys, sometimes you can get cramps there too at that time of the month

Could be kidneys. Got a fever? Burning urination? Is your urine discolored, cloudy, or has stuff (tissue) floating around in it? (Pee in a glass). Take a few drops of your urine, put on clean saucer and add a few drops of hydrogen peroxide (if it foams, you may have blood in your urine). On the other hand, could be your back--does pain sort of feel like a kick in the low butt, with burning pain running down your right leg, or areas of numbness from hip downward? Could be anything from pinched nerve to blown disc. Either way, go to the doctor now--it's much cheaper to fix a problem when it's new than after it's been around for awhile and done some other damage! Work out a payment plan if you have to--as long as you meet the amount you say you'll pay every month, they cannot take you to court or send you to a credit agency.
