Default 33 weeks with sharp vaginal pain?! Could I be dilating?

Hi-I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I'm having really REALLY sharp vaginal pain that comes and goes (but sticks around when I'm walking and while trying to sleep). Is this part of the baby descending or could I be dilating? I've read that both have similar effects.

It could be, but what my doctor told me is it's likely just from the pressure of the baby bearing down.

The best thing to do is have it checked by your Dr. if it is a continual problem. It could be the baby is laying on a nerve.
