Some questions about the word of God being "sharper than any twoedged sword".?
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and SHARPER THAN ANY TWOEDGED SWORD, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Revelation 1:16
And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a SHARP TWOEDGED SWORD: and his countenance [was] as the sun shineth in his strength.
- If "the word of God" is "grace", then is "sharper than any twoedged sword" allegory for grace is smarter than law vs law, since law vs law is divided against itself?
- Is what comes out the mouth of the priestly figure in Revelation the word of God, if the word of God is sharper than any twoedged sword?
- Isn't it what comes out the mouth that defiles a man in Matthew 15:11, Mark 7:22, Luke 6:45; And if so, then wouldn't the priestly figure in Revelation defile himself with what comes out his mouth if Romans 2 says those who law judge condemn themselves thereby?

Read James 3 on how to control the tongue. The same tongue that lifts people up can also tear people down. That is how mans words are.
But the Word of God is perfect and Holy.
The two edged Sword symbolizes its power to cut to each persons heart. It can cut to break the heart or it can cut to harden.
But one thing for sure, the Living Word of God never sits there dormant and does nothing.
The same sun that melts the ice, hardens the clay.

You read way too much into these verses. A really sharp two-edged sword can certainly dismember one and in fact kill one quite easily. Regarding the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, the dismemberment and/or death of your human body is the least of your worries. God's word is sufficient to judge your heart condition to the separating of good versus evil. God's word, His sword of the spirit, can render you dead for eternity because he can judge your spirit, your heart and your intentions.
Since God's word never changes, your guilt under it, coupled with no decision on your part to believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour allows the sword of the spirit to mete out an eternal punishment that is far worse than you could ever receive from some ordinary, flesh piercing, two-edged sword.
Yes, things you say are a reflection of what is in your heart and when you use words to tear down your brother or your neighbor then that is what God's word means when He talks about the negativity coming out of your mouth.
Those nasty things is what defiles a soul while the various things you might otherwise put in your mouth for nourishment are acceptable because God created and saw that it was good for human consumption. Again, the idea here is that your acts are less injurious than your words. Be careful.

I think you are missing spiritual revelation.
The two edge sword is not literal and does not defile God.
It is indeed the word of God that seperates spirit from flesh.
Jesus has already overcome temptation sin and death as a man under law fulfilling the law for those who accept the atonement.
That victory has already been won.
You're two thousand years too late with that revelation, that battle has been won.

The word of God is the sword that cometh out of the mouth of the Lord, It cuts inward & outward, & it is sharper then a 2 edge sword. Even cutting into the heart & thoughts of men.

We see in (Ephesians.6:17) that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God; we also see in (Revelation.19:15) that out of His mouth (i.e. Christ) goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations. The Word of God cannot be defiled, but when we are insincere in our intention, that is what corrupts or contaminates with sin (i.e. defiles) our own self. As for judgment, we are told by Christ in (John.7:24) to judge righteous judgment; which is to evaluate, determine, and conclude what is right according to the will of God. We should never attempt to disassemble God´s Word, rather it truly does fit like a hand in a glove; we must only continue to search the scriptures to rightly divide the Word of Truth.

That Priestly figure is Jesus; The one God has Appointed to rule over us along with 144000 of our peers for the thousand years, in which The resurrection takes place of the good and the bad.
God?s Word is sharper than any two-edged sword. It cuts deeply, dividing or distinguishing between soul and spirit, between our life as humans and our mental attitude. It makes bare to us the thoughts and intentions of our hearts by its very commands as to what we should and should not do.
