Default Are sharp chest pains normal for teens?

Hi,

I'm sixteen by the way. Now I don't smoke or anything like that but just recently, like right now, I was lying down in bed and I found there was a slight pain in my chest. I was just wondering why it may hurt? It doesn't seem to hurt now but I was wondering what might be the cause of this? Could it be gas, a growing spurt, what do you think? I'm wondering what I should do, I want to go to bed but I'm a little afraid of the pain coming back, it's not major, but just a sharpish feeling. Should I go to the doctors, it might be because of my diet, I'm a fussy eater, unfourtunately. Could that be a cause? Maybe my diet should be healthier?

Thank you

It is only my chest slightly, not my arms or anything.

If this chest pain continues, head to the ER! Better safe than sorry!

Its probably just gas. You're a bit young for a heart condition, but if your arms hurt as well, then you should head over to the ER. Thats a sign of a heart attack.

I suffered in that kind of pain when i'm also 16 yrs old, but its called heart burn. Maybe you are taking vitamins that is not suitable for you.

Or you are lack of sleeping. Just eat healthy foods.

I can't believe how many teens have this problem! I have the problem and I am not on (generic for) zantac. but you should ask your doctor because I don't know exactly how it feels on you

I'm 20, and I've had mild chest pains a few times in my life. It's never anything serious, just a little random body pain - it can happen anywhere. I think you should try sleeping, I bet you a million dollars it will be gone in the morning.

I've had pains like that as well. I've always been told it was heartburn. I notice it most when I become really stressed or anxious (like for college apps). I've tried taking antacids, which seemed to help a little bit.

oh wat u have explained is wat i have experienced weeks ago. I was scared and suffered for about an hour. Well...i could realise that it happened out of my improper way of doing things. I have wrong sleeping and eating habits. I dont drink and smoke though, its jus that everything is done in odd times. Please dont do that. Once you over come that pain after few days not immediately try doing some slight stretching exercise in the morning if possible yoga under some supervision in the start;dont experiment with yoga urself. Have a timely food and dont sleep immediately after you hav ur dinner. Leave atleast 2 hours.

TAKE CARE. Health is wealth.
