I'm 19 years old, and I'd say on and off for the last three or four years I've been having these really sharp pains in my jaw line. It almost feels like I'm being electricuted. It also causes a lot of saliva production too. I had always assumed it was related to my wisdom teeth growing in because when I had all four removed last year the pain stopped. Well for the last 2 months it's been coming back, and I haven't been in to see the dentist yet, so I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, or if anyone knows what it may be? Do you have an issues with your temporal mandibular joint because this could be a result of that. I would suggest getting a chiropractor to look at your jaw and see if it needs a realignment. It could be a simple pinched nerve.

try to stick to soft foods for the next week, try not to open your mouth to wide! do you clench your teeth in the day or night? try to avoid this in the day! if you do it at night you may need a soft occlusal plate a dentist can sort this out! also if its painful take analgies ( paracetamol, ibuprofen) and get a warm flannel or hot water bottle and place it over the jaw! if none if these work i would advise you go to the dentist!
