When I take a deep breath in a get an incredibly sharp pain in the left side of my chest ... any ideas what it could be? I asked a doctor about it before but they think it could be trapped air because it comes and goes...if it keeps up I am going to see another doc...but has anyone had this problem before?

I have had this before, and yes, it is very likely that it is just trapped air, so try not to worry about it. It's very common, particularly in young people.

It could be your lungs rubbing against your heart? I have gotten this pain in the same location with the same intensity and have usually been laying down, try sitting up and see if the pain goes away.
