i have sharp pains just above my hip bone ( in the front )?

im 23 and have been having my periods regulary. for the first time im having shapr pains in my lwer right side abdomen. my doctor says im just experiencing pain coz of ovulation. i want to know why now? why after all these years? nd it hurts baad! my tests and ultra sound came clean.

during ovulation, the ovaries release an egg and it has to travel to the fallopian tubes. but when the egg is released, it has to bed pushed out of the ovary and suck into the fallopian tube, so it will cause pain.
