May have stepped on needle/sharp instrument at the beach?

hey everyone. I was at the beach yesterday afternoon at about 6pm, and since it was quite hot we decided to leave. However, while I was walking back up the beach to get to my car I stepped on something sharp and felt a sharp sting on my left foot... It didn't cross my mind as anything bad though and I stupidly didn't check as to what it could be... it was only later it crossed my mind that it could have been a syringe or something I stepped on. Later I went back and had a look, but of course I couldn't see anything. So I didn't see what it was, it could have been a shell or a twig etc and I could be stressing for nothing but still..

There's no puncture wound on my foot either; it's just a little tender.

it's only now, after I got home that I've started competely stressing out that it could have been a syringe and contaiminated or something like that. I have been stressing alot and not sleeping and getting really bad nausea from the worry.

I know I could be worrying about nothing but it's just so scary to me.. should I go to the doctors, and what is your advice on the subject?

I would go to the doctors, just to be safe. But until then, don't worry so much. There's nothing you can do about it right now, so relax and make sure you have your insurance card, an appointment, etc...

Haha, don't worry, believe me if you where to get poked by anything infectious it would hurt bad enough for you to check it, it was probably just a sharp rock or like you said a twig or shell. I get them all the time, you probably just have soft feet, and it hurt a little bit more.

Simply you would have got injection for TT and nothing else because the there is nothing more that and still consult the physician. Other nothing to worry.

It was most likely a twig or a sandspur. I completely understand your fear. I do the same thing all the time. Just keep an eye on it, and if you do start to get sick then i'd worry. But if there's not puncture wound on your foot then it was mot likely a shell or a stick. Just calm down.
