I have sharp shooting pains in my eardrums. It feels like a knife is stabbing into my eardrum. It hurts so much that I have gotten to the point of where I cant sleep. (That is why I am up at 8 am asking this.) The past week I have been swimming, but I don't think It is that. I didn't start hurting until the other morning. I woke up to a sharp pain. I have tried to take tylenol, but it doesnt seem to help at all. I really don't think that it is an infection, but it might be. My mom is going to take me to the doctor, but before I go... Any suggestions on what it might be?















Also, I have no dranage and no fever. It hurts when I put pressure around my ear.

It's probably an infection, such as swimmer's ear. Your doctor will probably prescribe antibiotics to make it go away. Take the antibiotics exactly as prescribed, until they are gone (otherwise you risk developing antibiotic-resistant infections).
