Has a kidney infection been ruled out? If not, you should be evaluated. Your doctor can order an MRI to further diagnose this pain now that it is chronic.

There are medicines that can help that are non-narcotic. Voltaren, gabba pentin, ibuprofen and of course, you could try the muscle relaxer/narcotic approach....which will def take the edge off while they find something.

There is no reason to be in pain like this. Go back to your doctor!

there is no specific name for what you have. Its not a disease or a sickness at all. I'm 16 and i've got exactly what you've got. Its just the way your back arches, how much you bend and lift and use your back, and what way you bend and twist your spine. when you crack your back, this lets fluids inbetween your spinal cavities, which does help, but this is mostly with your upper back. So to make this go away, i would recommend heat every night, or if its so bad, go to a chiropractor. You need to lengthen your spine because your lower back is so condensed becasue of the way your spine arches. When you lengthen your spine, it pulls apart this condenseness and trust me...it feels a lot better afterwards.

I have the same pain-radiates into my hip and butt. Usually comes after 3 or 4 hours of constantly walking around. My doctor says its inflammation of my sacroiliac joint (hip joint in your lower back). MRI or xrays wont show it, but there are certain exercises that the doctor can do in office to help determine if its your SI joint. Therapy didnt help for me either, but my chiropractor did do something called Cold Laser Treatment-helped quite a bit after about 3 or 4 times. Taking anti-inflammatories also helped. Good luck!
