why is my knife only getting so sharp?

like i just got this 2 sided sharpening stone... i first started with the rough side and it stopped sharpening then i went to the smooth and it got a lil bit sharper and now its not getting any sharper.. what do i do?

i have 5 knives and i tried with all and after a point none are getting any sharper... help

Sharpening stones will only clean the edge up on the knife, get rid of any nicks or chips. If you want them to get as sharp as they were new, when you are done with the stone you need to use a sharpening steel (it looks like a round chisel with a handle, you can get them at most kitchen supply stores ie Bed, Bath and Beyond.)
