You can tell the police if you want to, but say you do tell them. Then what? Are you actually going to file charges against this 13 year old? Probably not. Of course, the girl should NOT have done that. But maybe tell the 13 year old's parents instead. And figure out why she stabbed her. What is going on between them to warrant such behavior? And then try to solve that issue instead of bringing the police in and making more issues for everyone.































And most likely, the cops won't do much anyway.

I would inform the Police. I would also speak to the school.































Ask your daughter how she feels about it.

It is assault, if it happened in school then inform the head teacher there rather than the police and hopefully they can deal with it as well as involving the girls parents.































If it happened out of school then you could either go and speak to the parents of this girl or just involve the police anyway. Don't expect them to do much though because of this girls age and if there are no witnesses it will be one word against the other. Unfortunately this is how this kind of thing works.































I would ignore the pissy answers you have gotten, they probably come from those who do not have kids because I fail to see how any parent could not be upset or angry if their child came home hurt saying someone had stabbed them with a pin.
