Default Sharp pain in left hip, lower back, radiates down leg (TWIST TO THIS!!!! 13th

thoracic vertabrae)? I need some ideas! I know I will be going to the doctor next week for this horrible pain in my hip, it radiates through my leg and I cannot sit down or drive and sometimes sleep without feeling the pain. My lower back and hip feel the most pain. I have thought it could be sacroiliac, however I really do not know! NOW! The twist to this pain is that I have a thirteenth thoracic vertabrae. I am 6'3" about 200lbs. I am inactive for the most part but when I work (lots of walking around), the pain will go away for awhile but it always comes back, and it gets worse! As far as I can remember it started when I was doing situps (about a year ago when i was more active), I would get a popping feeling and strage pressure in my left hip as I would do the situps. Since then it hurts so bad a lot! Sometimes when I lift my leg I will hear and feel the popping sound.PLEASE!! Does anyone have any ideas so that when I see the doctor he may have a better chance of correctly diagnosing me or something

I have similar pain in my left hip going down the outside of my knee, the knee would throb. I went to Physio he suggested exercises and heat in the hip area It would be OK for a while but come back. I went to a Osteopath with 3 visits with some manipulation and massage he helped me. I think I will always have a weakness in that area.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I have a similar problem, but my pain is in my lower back and left butt cheek and down my leg to my toes. The pain in my butt is right behind the hip bone and it feels like I'm sitting on a knife. I have herniation in L3-L4 down to L5-S1. Also have a problem at C4-C7 (many spine problems!). I have had four spine surgeries and am still in constant pain - day and night. Without pain meds, my leg/butt and back pain is 9+ and I feel like I'd rather be dead. With pain meds (Methadone 2x a day) my pain is a 4-5 on a scale of 1-10. I have tried steroid injections, epidural injections, accupuncture, chiropractic, heating pads and cold packs. Nothing works but the pain meds. I take as little as possible because I have a full time job (8-10 hours a day) and need to stay focused. Ask your doctor to do an MRI and/or CT scan. It's been 18 years of pain for me and I have found no long-term relief - but I'm still looking. Good luck.

Tell the doc all the symptoms and when they occur. You may want to see a chiropractor (thats what i did), get a full set of back xrays, and see what they do for you. Most chiros do not prescribe drugs (mine didn't) and alot of times they can give you recommendations for stretching (to prevent reoccurance). I like yoga and tai chi. gl
