Advil. Talk to a doctor. Sounds like migraines but could be something worse.

This sounds like a migraine to me. Does intense light trigger the sharp pains at all? Do they feel like "zings" that move through and then leave?

I get these too. They are almost like really quick stabbing headaches. I have had them now for about a year. I don't know what they are...but mine don't happen too frequently and aren't real severe. I also at times will have numbness and tingling and it will travel down one side of my face..usually the left. If you have insurance, see your doctor asap. I don't have insurance.

Get a massage and have the massage therapist work on your shoulders, the back of your head and of course your neck. They should also spend some time on your back. If that does not help then you should definitely see your Doctor.Edit: Even if it is not a migrane it could be a pinched nerve.
