I am getting sharp pains in my right abdominal region. What can be causing this?

Lately I have been getting sharp pains in my right abdominal region. I am 43 and I want to know what could be causing this.The pain is coming in waves if that could help explain any better.

You might also have gall bladder stones. That can be checked with a sonogram. Gall bladder removal is one of the most common operations in the USA. I had mine removed last year. Doctors don't have to cut you open, but just make three incisions and pull out the gall bladder. Unfortunately for me, recovery wasn't just 2 or 3 days. It was more like a week or so.Good luck!Zola
