Default 5 weeks pregnant with sharp pains on right side what is it?

I am 5 weeks pregnant and for the last few days off and on i have been having this sharp pain which kind of feels like someone is pinching me on the right side below my hip. Is this normal? Ever since someone mentioned having a tubal pregnancy I have been scared that's what it might be but i have no other signs besides the pain on the right side. Please help.... I plan on calling the obgyn office tomorrow but i want something to ease my mind tonight.....

Normal I would say.Through my entire pregnancy I had weird twinges and pains.I was really worried about the tubal pregnancy too! Turned out I was carrying a normal, healthy, viable pregnancy.Congratulations and good luck!

A tubal PG is TERRIBLE pain..so if its not gut wrenching, make you wanna puke pain you may be okay. Your body is expanding and getting used to another human being in there, so pain is normal..just wait until your 8th and 9th month where the baby is inside your ribs, chest and kicking the crap outa you all at the same time, you'll understand then!! best of luck with your pregnancy

It's early, but it could be round ligament pain. There are two major ligaments that support the uterus like rubber bands. As your uterus grows, they stretch and at times can be terribly uncomfortable. Is it worse when you get up from a sitting position? If it occurs when you are moving, I would say it's the ligament stretching. If it's constant, I'd be more concerned and speak with your doctor who may want to do a quantitative hcg blood test to measure the hormone levels in your blood. This can rule out tubal pregnancies if the levels double in a 48 hr period. Don't use a heating pad, but gentle massage and lay on your left side to ease discomfort. Don't take Advil or any prescription pain killers. Ask Dr. about Tylenol for discomfort. Good luck.
