I have a sharp pain from the right side of my rib. It seems that the pain is coming from my ribs. It hurts really bad when i laugh, sneeze, yawn, cough . .anything that causes sudden movement makes it hurt. What do you think it could be? I dont really feel like going into the E.R. I took advil for it, it didnt help one bit. =[

It could be bruised or broken, or the cartilidge in between could be ripped or something.

If you especially notice it while sitting, you could have messed up some of the spacing between your individual rib blades. I got that problem through weightlifting. I had a few physical therapy sessions, but it always came back, especially when sitting on hard chairs for many hours. At work I have some fancy chair now and the problem hasn't come back. Advil and the like never really helped me.

probably just a stubborn gas bubble rounding the curve in ur intestine.i went to the hospital once for some fierce stomach cramps and they couldnt find anything wrong with me and said i probably just had gas. thru my tears i said, "are u kidding me, im in this kinda pain and ur just gonna brush me off to the side and tell me its i have gas" then they told me they had patients come in complaining form chest pain and believing they were having a heart attack and it ended up just being gas
