Default Intense, sharp pains?

Hi. My names Cora. I'm 15 and 26 weeks pregnant with my first.Monday night I started to have some pain. Yesterday it got a lot worse. Really sharp, intense pain in my stomach and my back. It was the worst in my lower stomach. I took a really warm bath and it didn't help so I called my doctor who just told me to relax and not worry.I worried anyway.Today the pains worse. Its like period cramps, only way more intense and painful. It seems like the pain just keeps getting worse. Is it going to go away? Or could it be something worse? What should I do to make it better? Any advice would be amazing.I'll probably add details when I think of things I should have said.

They could just be Braxton Hicks (false) contractions, but those are usually just uncomfortable. Even though your doctor said (over the phone) to relax and not worry, you should INSIST on being seen by him/her just to be on the safe side. It's never a good thing when you have "intense pain" during pregnancy (unless it is during labor...that's a "good pain"). You definitely should be seen by your doctor since the pain does not seem to be getting any better. If the doctor would deny your request and you are still very concerned, you could "fib" and say that you are spotting...they would definitely see you then and you could get some peace of mind. Or just go directly to the emergency room. I had pretty bad pain in my abdomen during my pregnancies, but my OBGYN said that it was because of my uterus and abdominal muscles stretching to accommodate the baby. Either way, you should be seen by a doctor ASAP just to be on the safe side.

if your ob doesn't think something is wrong, maybe get a second opinion. seeing as your only 15yrs old and your body is not finished developing as it is, it could be a sign of pre-term labour. definitly instist on being checked and getting an answer. it could just be braxton hicks but if they are too intense and constant it could be mild contractions alsogood luck

Hi Cora, You should definitely go see the dr. especially since the pain isnt getting any better. The dr. and nurses are there to help you with your pregnancy. Thats what they get paid for! I would call and get an appointment. Its better to be safe than sorry Good luck and I will be praying for you!

PLEASE take my advice and go to the Labor & Delivery part of your hospital. This sounds like pre-term labor and it is VERY dangerous to just let something like this go. We are talking about the life of your child here....so please go. Don't care what the doctor said- just leave now and go.
