Really sharp pains in chest on left side?
I get a really sharp pain right in the centre of my chest, a little to the left. It lasts for about 5-10 minutes, and during that time I can hardly breathe or move more than a few millimetres because the pain becomes too intense for me (and I can usually deal with pain very well). It goes away almost as quickly as it starts up, and it isn't really affected by eating, laughing or leaning over my laptop for long times. It's happened about 3 times in the last 5 days, each time becoming increasingly painful. I'm 17, and I don't smoke. A friend has suggested chewing an aspirin, but I'm allergic to them. It definitely doesn't feel like heartburn.People keep telling me to go to the doctors, but I've already been twice in the last month for unrelated things and I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac! What's up?Speaking of only having it 3 times in the past 5 days, I've just had it for the second time tonight, and this time worse. I know this sounds stupid, but I have a major phobia of hospitals and ambulances, so A+E / ER isn't really an option. There's no way I'm gonna get an appointment with the docs for at least a week. Any more ideas?
