the backlight has gone on my fujitsu siemens amilo 1510?

i have just been using my laptop and the screen suddenly went blank, i noticed that there was still a faint image on the screen though but i cant get the image back. i've tried pressing the little screen nub and that doesnt work. my laptop is only 10 months old so i'm a bit perplexed as to why this has happened. can anyone tell me how to tell if i need a new inverter or if i need a new backlight. also how much does tall this cost to fix?? in uk £cheers all

if its only 10 months old, it should still be under manufacturer warranty. contact your manufacturer

It depends on the screen, some LCDs have the inverter and LCD as a unit some don't. It should be under warranty, take it and have it fixed before it runs out.
