siemens gigaset 4200 volume?

I have a cordless siemens gigaset 4200 and the volume on the ringer is set to silent, how do you get it back on? there's a little bell symbol with a line through on it on the screen.. and on the keys theres a bell symbol where the * is.. I tried pressing it for certain amount of time but it still won't turn on.
