lol, before asking this kind of questions, plant your PC specs!!! I got a Fujitsu Siemens, and I have no problems to view dvds.

Download and run VLC Player, it'll play anything.

Not enough information here First of all if your laptop is a new one I would think it would have a dvd-r installed in it.Click on my computer and look for your dvd drive if it is showing put a dvd in the drive then double click on it and select open to show the files if the files are showing close your dvd drive. click on start, then control panel, then system, then device manager look for cd/dvd drives right click on it look for your dvd drive, is there a yellow exclamation mark showing. if so install the driver

When you bought it, did the specifications say it was capable of viewing DVD's in the first place? The CPU and the RAM have got to be sufficient enough to do so.
