First of all you need to find out if you have a SATA Hard Drive or and IDE hard drive. Then take out the old Hard Drive (HDD) and repace it with the new. Make sure to back everything up. Most programs will not transfer to the new HDD so best thing to back up would be under C:\documents and setting\(your user name)\ and backup desktop, favorites, and my documents. You will also need windows operating system disk. If you do not have that there is no since in doing any of this without them. Usually any OEM disk will work with the sticker on the bottom that has your operating system key code. and OEM copies are cheaper than the retail copies. Best place to buy is at newegg.com. If you have the disk you eill then need to reload. It's pretty simple. Put the disk in and follow instructions. After it asks you to reboot let it reboot but don't boot to the cd. Best of luck
