If the battery only lasts 1 hr with the power saver setting on and the brightness turned to low, then there could be several problems.1) Many CPU-intensive tasks are running (Rendering movies, playing DVD's, playing games, etc.). Close the programs that you're not using. If you know what you're doing, go to the task manager, hit "processes," and shut down the ones that don't do much.2) The power saver settings are messed up, or they do useless things like turn the screen off after 5 min of non-activity. Check your settings to see that the power saver settings actually save power. (e.g. closes unused tasks or something)3) Your battery is dying. The battery for your laptop (Fujitsu Siemens) should last around 300-500 charge cycles (fully charge from empty). The ability of the battery to hold a charge decreases after around 300 charge cycles. If you use your laptop a lot, or if it's about a year old, I suggest replacing the battery.
