I have a Dell Inspiron 6400, and a fujitsu Siemens moniter similar to this one: [url]http://www.inhabitat.com/wp-content/uploads/487251743.jpg.[/url]































I regularly hook my laptop up to that screen, which doesn't say that it works with windows vista, which is what my laptop runs, and i have to set the resoloution every time because my laptop screen is 15.4" widescreen, and the monitor size is 17". and even then, the image is a bit wierd.































What i want to know is if i buy a desktop computer on its own, and hook it up to the monitor, will it have that almost distorted image, and will it fit the screen to the screen size?

the screen will be fine with monitor as long as you get the correct software for the graphics card. if not then re adjust the pixel settings from control panel, but i never use it since its to simple. i want to make the best of my monitor and use the software that came with it. i recommend a graphics card from nvida, i got a 7300 gs 256 ram and runs 512 graphic ram games on it with ease, especially on vista.

It will automatically fit the screen. If it does not you can easily reset the settings in Control Panel for the secondary display.

If you are going to buy an monitor than buy a 19 inch widescreen monitor and you will no longer have these distorted picture problems. Cheers

You should check out your monitors resolution and ensure any computer you buy has a graphics card that provides that resolution.
