Problem getting music file onto Sony Ericsson w580i?

I downloaded Disc2Phone software on my computer, and put the song I wanted on my Sony Ericsson w580i in the track list, but when I plugged my phone in, my computer did not know it was plugged in. I let the computer install the necssesary drivers, but it still won't find my phone.I am using Windows Vista HELP!!!!!!
