Default Sony Ericsson W580i keeps switching off in my pocket?

I have had this phone for about a month now and carry it in my trouser pocket. The keylock function is always enabled but it keeps switching off. I don't generally wear tight trousers but if you press down on certain places on the front of the phone, the screen goes black, maybe it switches off after this. Is this normal?

no this is not normal it should not be doing that If you have insurance on your phone you can get it replaced for 50.00 or since you have only had your phone for a month you should still be under warranty if it is a cingular phone witch it sounds like it is the warranty number is 1-800-801-1101 and the cingular number is 1-800-331-0500. this is a great phone my brother has one and is very ruff on his and it does not have any problems you have a year warranty on the phone and as long as there is no fiscal damage on the phone and the dot under the batterer and on the bottom of the batterer is not pink you should be fine they will send you a new phone with in a weak and you send them your old one after you get it they will send you a box and every thing
