Generally, Lithium ion batteries (the type in cell phones and most other newer devices) are at 99% charge when the device reads full. You can try to top the charge a little more, but it honestly wouldn't do much. You are probably OK to charge it.The purpose of charging/discharging Lithium ion batteries is to give the device a better "sense" of the battery, likely it's voltage profile as it goes from full charge to no charge. Thus, the first time of doing this is somewhat instrumental. But, Lithium ion battery voltage profiles are fairly common and most phones and other devices are already "aware" of these limits. Thus, you don't need to put a huge effort into doing this, unless you're very concerned about battery life on your phone.
