Sony Ericsson W910i problem?

My Dad has a W910i on contract, and has only just recently got it back from been repaired by Sony Ericsson themselves, as it was switching itself off and freezing up, and up to now has been working fine, but it's now saying he has an inactive sim?Does anyone know if this is another fault with this phone model or with the actual sim card?Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.
