Default telus phone ?

on my telus phone i go to settings > advanced > system > and i see it say 'set mode' and 'set nam' i already know what set mode is, but what does name mean.. mine is set to NAM 1 but there is a NAM 2.. i dont get it =/

NAM - network assignment module. This is an area of memory that stores your phone number, electronic serial number, etc. If your phone supports multiple NAM's, then you can register your phone with multiple providers.
