Also, if I bought a US Cellular smart phone on eBay and had customer service switch my account over to the new phone would I still have to sign a new contract to use internet or could I just add it on to my existing plan--and could I cancel the internet plan an switch back to my old Motrola Razr V3M later if I wanted to?
Thanks for any input.

the USCC 3g network is great. it's actually the best in the midwest in terms of coverage area. and the speed boost is definitely noticeable.
as for your ebay scenario... make sure it's a us cellular phone. no other carriers will work. no, you don't need to sign a contract if you activate it and add the internet plan. and yes, you can cancel it and go back to your razr if you'd like.
as for the device, i would seriously consider a blackberry curve or pearl flip) over a touch pro. or at least wait until the touch pro II comes out. i've hear of lots of issues with the touch pro.
