Default Verizon plan + used phone, etc QUESTION?

FOR VERIZON:Hello,I have a family of 4, and I want the cheapest possible plan with unlimited text, and IM and voice. I think I found it and it's 120 dollars/month, is this right? But my main question is what if I buy a verizon compatible phone off of my friend, and I am a new verizon customer, how do I use it without buying a phone directly from Verizon? Is this possible? Can I buy the cheapest phone and put the sim card in my other phone? How does it work if I don't want to buy the phone from Verizon? Also, how much is mobile TV?So my main questions are:1.) If I'm a new verizon customer, how do get the plan but use a used phone I buy seperately?2.) How much is mobile TV?3.) is the cheapest plan for a family of 4 w/ unlimited TEXT and IM = $120?THANK YOU IN ADVANCEYES I KNOW I WOULD BUY A VERIZON PHONEbut when i go to the site and set up a plan, i click next and it MAKES you select 4 phones. Should I just buy 4 cheap 10 dollar ones from them then call them and make them switch the serials to some different phones? But how do I do this since when I buy the phone from verizon it says 2 yr contract?

1st of all, any phone you buy separately for Verizon Wireless needs to be compatible with Verizon Wireless, they use CDMA or ESN technology which has the chip hardwired into the phone, you can't buy and install the SIM chip unlike GSM carriers like Cingular or T-Mobile, Verizon does not use a SIM chip. Other than that I understand it's a good carrier with good signal strength and will pay for dropped calls which occurs rarely with them.

I cant answer the whole question but i can give you some insight. Verizon doesn't use SIM cards. They use what they call an ESN, or an electronic serial number. If you get a family plan, with 4 phone numbers, you shouldn't have to but all 4 phones at that time. If i remember right, i added a line to my plan, but didnt buy a phone instore, and i just called them afterwards to get my old phone hooked up to the new line for my grandmother. If you call verizon, you can have then switch the ESN linked to that phone number, which will basically assign the phone number to that phone.I have 3 lines on my family plan with unlimited text and 700 minutes, and i pay 102.98 after tax. (Granted no one goes over).FYI, if the phone has a SIM card, it's most likley 99.999% not compatable with verizon.

Yes, you can take a phone that you bought and put service on it. The only requirement is that it is a Verizon phone.1. The best way to get service on a phone you have already is to stop in the store and set it up. You won't be able to do this online. You also may be able to call the customer care at Verizon and set it up over the phone. 1-800-922-02042. Mobile TV ranges from $4 dollars to $15.00. $15.00 gives you all the 8 channels. $8 gives you four channels and $4 gives you 2. For $25 you can get all the channels plus the VCAST which gives you unlimited megabyte usage and access to VCAST Videos, Music, ESPN MVP, VZW Song ID, and Unlimited access to mobile web.3. Yes. That gives you Unlimited Text and 700 minutes. Unlimited Verizon to Verizon. Another thing, who do you work for? Ask them if you get discounts off your wireless bill. Ford, McDonalds, Quicken, Target etc. All get discounts check your company and see if they offer that too.
