my pc won't detect the my verizon 6100 dsl modem anymore. It worked before but I haven't used the pc for a month because it wouldnt turn on because of a system fan error. Once the pc got fixed i tried to connect online but the pc won't detect the modem. i inserted the installation cd but the pc won't detect the modem. In the connections folder, the local area connection says it is connected but it still it doesn't go online. My laptop still connects with modem with an ethernet cable so I'm guessing the modem is not the problem. Anyone know how get the pc to detect the modem again with ethernet cable?

Do you have a router between the modem and the machines?you cannot hook up 2 machines to the modem without oneBeware - the web reports on this modem say bad thingsgood luck
