Can I use Blackberry Pearl- Verizon on mobile web plan and not the blackberry

plan? Web comes with my fam. sha I have Verizon family share plan and it comes with mobile web and don't want to spend the extra $$ on a single plan just for blackberry pear. Can I get the pearl and just use mobile web only and not the blackberry plan? Less$$
