It is possible to keep your prepaid number.. BUT cellphone companies do like to keep their prepaid numbers so they are less likely to let you port (switch the number to another carrier) a prepaid number.Best thing to do is call Verizon and tell them you want to port your number to Tmobile for reasons that are out of your control, and that you really want to keep your number.. If they say ok have them note the account and then go to tmobile and switch over! : )

not possible -- I have a t-mobile pre paid and have tried to port the number to several different companies in order to get a plan, and, they have all denied the request.pre-paid numbers can't be transferred but you can try it

I'm pretty sure you can port your number, they are few things you need to do before.First make sure you set the name on that pre-paid account to your actual name, and address and etc etc. Second make sure you make a password to that accountThird, write down your pre-paid account number.Then go to the carrier you want to switch over and have all the info and if it matches with your info then it will be switched.
