Is a Verizon Wireless En-V or Samsung Alias better?

I am due for an upgrade on my cell phone, and I want an En-V, but it costs too much for me, and I have heard that an Alias is so much better, and that it costs less. They are almost the same but which one is better? My sister wants to get an En-V also, but would an Alias be better for a 10 year old and me?
