If it's under warranty, have Verizon replace or repair it.

How long have you had the phone?If you have replaced it with a new, fully charged battery, maybe the connection part of the battery (a metal part that fuses with your phone, it is usually gold in colour) is not connecting properly. Best if you would bring it to the customer service centre.

if you just got the phone you need to let it fully charge. leave it charged for a long time. have you checked if theres a possibility of water damage? if it has warranty then verizon will fix it just take it into you local verizon provider.
